The West 74th Street Residence is owned and operated by the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH). WSFSSH was formed in 1976 by a coalition of social service agencies, religious institutions, and community organizations and today provides housing and supportive services to over 1,800 people in 24 buildings located on the Upper West Side, and in Harlem, Chelsea, and the Bronx. The West 74th Street Residence became part of the WSFSSH family in 1985 and operates under a license with the New York State Department of Health. The Residence provides affordable housing and supportive social services, congregate dining, 24-hour security, and trained staff available to assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, medication management, and crisis intervention. The Residence is licensed to serve up to 95 people.
