The drying step which will take a day will not be of your problem since it will not require much attention.
Two methods on how to wash tennis shoes
There are two steps to choose from when washing tennis shoes. You can use a washing machine or you can hand wash it yourself. There are only four easy steps to know when cleaning tennis shoes, namely:
Removing the shoe laces and washing it separately
Can be washed together with laundry.
Removing the insoles and washing it separately
Baking soda is used for cleaning.
Placing the shoes inside the washing machine
Place the shoes inside a mesh garment bag to prevent banging the walls of the machine.
Placing it under the sun for air drying
Do not use a dryer for it can bring damage to the shoes.a
For the hand washing, same technique from the washing machine method can be applied. The cleaning solution will vary depending on the type of your shoes’ fabric.
Hand washing fabric shoes
In this type, the cleaning solution to be used is formed by dissolving a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in two cups of warm water. Brushing off the solution into the shoes will do the trick.
Hand washing leather shoes
For the leather shoes, the cleaning solution is made by mixing equal parts of distilled white vinegar and cold water.
Removing the odor
Sprinkle baking soda on top of insoles and leave it overnight to soak. This will soak up the unpleasant smell and will make your tennis shoes good as new.
